ISO 2245:2006 is an international standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) that specifies the classification of shaped insulating refractory products. These specialized materials are designed for thermal insulation in high-temperature environments, featuring a significant porosity level that ensures low thermal conductivity and reduced heat capacity. The classification focuses primarily on the permanent dimensional change these materials experience under heat treatment, with a secondary classification based on bulk density to identify lightweight products, denoted as Class L.
