Overview

ISO 22779:2006 specifies the requirements and test methods for aluminium coatings applied by physical vapour-deposition (PVD) techniques. It covers PVD aluminium coatings on a wide range of substrates - including mild and low‑alloy steels, high‑strength steels (with limitations), corrosion‑resisting steels, aluminium and titanium alloys - and defines how coatings should be designated, inspected and tested for performance and adhesion.
