This document specifies the general requirements for control elements in the life cycle of pipeline corrosion control engineering. This document is applicable to all types of pipeline corrosion control engineering programmes.

Overview
ISO 23221:2020 - Pipeline corrosion control engineering life cycle: General requirements defines high‑level, life‑cycle requirements for the control elements of pipeline corrosion control engineering. Applicable to all types of pipeline corrosion control programmes, the standard sets out general principles for establishing a traceable management system, defining objectives, identifying corrosion sources, and coordinating technical and management measures across the pipeline life cycle. It does not prescribe detailed techniques or operational procedures, but provides the framework for selecting standards, technologies and processes.
