ISO 25131:2025 - Hardware for furniture - Strength and durability of hinges and their components - Stays and hinges pivoting on a horizontal axis - defines standardized test methods and parameters to evaluate the mechanical performance of hinges, stays and related components that pivot on a horizontal axis. Tolerances: forces ±5 %, velocities ±5 %, masses ±1 %, dimensions ±1 mm, angles ±2°, force positioning ±5 mm.

Inspection and reporting: Mandatory pre- and post-test inspections for fractures, loosening, deformation, impaired function and loosening of fixings. Annex A requires product information; Annex B provides specific test loads and cycle counts.
