Overview - ISO 3786:1975 (Shipbuilding - Inland navigation towing hooks)
ISO 3786:1975 defines a standardized scale of nominal tractive efforts for towing hooks used on tugs operating on inland waterways. Published by ISO/TC 8 (Shipbuilding) in 1975, the standard is applicable to towing hooks fitted to tugs of all types and purposes engaged in towage on rivers, canals and other inland navigation routes. It provides a common basis for classifying and specifying towing hook capacity in both kilonewtons (kN) and tonnes-force (tf).
