ISO 4769:2022 - "Hardware for furniture - Strength and durability of hinges and their components - Hinges pivoting on a vertical axis" defines standardized test methods and parameters to evaluate the strength and durability of all types of hinges that pivot on a vertical axis. Particle board requirements: face withdrawal of screws ~1100 ± 100 N (EN 320) and density ~0.65 ± 0.05 g/cm³ (ISO 9427).

Measurement and tolerances: Forces, velocities, masses, dimensions and angles have specified tolerances (e.g., ±5 % for forces and velocities; relation 10 N = 1 kg for mass substitution).

Sequence and reporting: Tests must follow the clause sequence unless deviations are recorded; detailed inspection criteria and a required test report format are specified.
