ISO 5288:2024 - Synchronous belt drives - Vocabulary is the fourth edition of the ISO international standard that defines terms and definitions used for (also known as timing belts, positive belt drives or gear belts). The standard covers terminology needed where positive indexing or synchronization is required for mechanical power transmission. It updates the 2017 edition with the addition of Clause 4 (symbols) and is produced by ISO/TC 41 (Pulleys and belts), Subcommittee SC 4.
