ISO 5463:2024 - Geometrical product specifications (GPS) - Rotary axis form‑measuring instruments - Design and metrological characteristics defines the principal design and metrological characteristics for instruments that measure form deviations using a rotary axis. The standard covers instruments that acquire radial and axial deviations in a cylindrical coordinate system (longitudinal, radial and angular directions) and specifies what manufacturers, calibrators and users need to know about construction, probe systems and metrological performance. It explicitly excludes coordinate measuring systems (CMMs) as defined in the ISO 10360 series, except by special agreement.
