Glass pane composition

Minimum thickness of the main pane (designation t1) must meet ISO 21005 and be suitable for design pressure per ISO 5779 / ISO 5780.

Frame and construction

Frames must maintain the bulkhead integrity when tested to FTP Code fire tests.
Minimum requirements and reference constructions are given in ISO 1751 (side scuttles) and ISO 3903 (windows).

Testing

Prototype fire tests required on full assemblies, performed by laboratories recognized by the administration.
Tests follow IMO/MSC Resolution 61(67), Annex 1, Part 3 (FTP Code test procedures).
Mechanical strength testing references include ISO 614 (punch method nondestructive testing).

Marking

In addition to ISO 1751/3903 marks, panes must be marked with: “FIRE-PROOF”/“ANTI-FEU”, fire-resistance class (e.g., A-60), and “INSIDE” if composition is asymmetrical.
Hose-stream test designation: append “HS” to class marking.
