ISO 5902:2013 specifies laboratory measurement methods to determine the elastic properties of alpine skis. Shovel and rear (cS, cR): typical test load 150 N (reduce to 100 N if deflection >50 mm), pre‑load 20 N.
Spring constant balance (B): two bending tests with 50 N loads.
Torsion (cT): quasi‑static torque (recommendation for very stiff skis), read torsion angle after 2–5 s.

Results and tolerances: Mean of three tests reported. Recommended tolerances for published data: ±10% for both spring and torsional constants.

Test report: Must reference ISO 5902 and include manufacturer, model, nominal length, registration number, test results and any deviations.
