Abstract
Overview
ISO 6196-8:1998 is Part 8 of the ISO 6196 series - the international vocabulary for micrographics. Published in June 1998 by ISO/TC 171 (Document imaging applications), this bilingual (English/French) standard provides a consistent set of terms and carefully drafted definitions focused on the use (exploitation) of micrographics. Its purpose is to reduce ambiguity in international exchanges of microforms, microfilm/microfiche practices and other document imaging activities by standardizing vocabulary and entry presentation.
