ISO 6209:2009 specifies a method for the quantitative determination of the solvent-extractable material in carbon black for use in the rubber industry. The method is applicable to all types of carbon black.

Overview
ISO 6209:2009 - Rubber compounding ingredients - Carbon black - Determination of solvent-extractable material specifies a standardized gravimetric method to quantify in carbon black used in the rubber industry. Applicable to all types of carbon black, the method prescribes sampling, extraction, solvent removal and weighing procedures to report extractable content as a percentage by mass. The 2009 fourth edition reduced extraction time to (from 16 h) and adds precision data.
