These panels of any species of wood are assemblies made from wood fingers of a parallelepiped rectangular shape, forming component squares laid in a chequered pattern; they are intended to be bonded (or sealed) to a supporting base, either directly or over an interlayer of adequate material. Construction

Panels assembled from parallelepiped rectangular lamellae forming elementary squares in a checkerboard layout; lamellae can be of the same or different wood species and are preassembled either temporarily (e.g., paper) or permanently.

Ends must be perpendicular to edges within a squareness tolerance of 0.4%.
Up to 5% of lamellae per panel may show deviations up to twice the stated tolerances.

Moisture content

Delivery moisture: 8–13% (dry basis); reference moisture for dimensioning 11%.
Humidity testing: electrical method preferred; gravimetric method is definitive in case of dispute.

Inspection, acceptance and packaging

Sampling and acceptance rules are provided (lot/sample sizes, defect limits).
Packaging must protect panels and maintain specified moisture.

Marking

Required marking elements: the words “parquet mosaic” (mosaic parquet), wood species symbol per ISO/R 2036, nominal dimensions (thickness × width × length in mm), number of lamellae per elementary square, quality class symbol and reference to the applicable ISO number, and the number of panels per package. Country of origin/manufacturer may be added on request.
