ISO 6608-1:2024 - Active and intelligent packaging - Part 1: General requirements and specifications of active packaging defines the for active packaging systems. The standard clarifies the concept and classifications of active packaging (as distinct from intelligent packaging), and sets out the evaluation process needed to demonstrate safety, efficacy and regulatory compliance for packaging that intentionally interacts with the packaged product or its environment.
