Abstract
Overview
ISO 6639-4:1987 is Part 4 of the ISO series on “Cereals and pulses - Determination of hidden insect infestation.” This part specifies rapid methods for detecting or estimating hidden insect infestation in cereals and pulses on a qualitative basis. It defines five rapid approaches (carbon dioxide production, ninhydrin, whole‑grain flotation, acoustic, and X‑ray) and gives practical procedures, equipment needs and interpretation guidance for routine grain quality and storage‑pest screening.
