Exposure and assembly: Prevent galvanic contact and crevice corrosion between ring and fixture (use insulating bushings, coatings or same‑material inserts). Consider stress relaxation at elevated temperature.

Inspection and assessment: Visual inspection and low‑magnification checks are common; ambiguous indications should be followed by continued exposure or metallographic cross‑sectioning. Report times to cracking, failure criteria, and detailed test parameters.

Test reporting: Record stressing method, applied stress magnitude, specimen orientation, dimensions, surface prep, alloy identification and environment details.
