Calibrate apparatus to the required air flow.
Measure bed height at rest (h1) and fluidized height (h2) to ±2 mm.
Fluidize and collect powder discharged through the 4 mm orifice for (30 ± 1) s, weigh collected mass (m) to 0.1 g.
Perform tests in duplicate; if results differ by >5 %, perform a third run.

Calculations:

Fluidization factor φ = h1 / h2
Powder flow rate R (g·s−1) = (m · φ) / t

Reporting: test identification, reference to ISO 8130-5:2021, environmental conditions, air flow rate, observations (channelling/bubbling), results (φ and R), deviations and anomalies, and test date. Note: precision data currently not available.
