ISO 9301:2003 specifies quality characteristics and test requirements for oil of cumin seed (Cuminum cyminum L.), the essential oil obtained by steam distillation of cumin seeds. The standard is intended to facilitate consistent assessment of cumin seed oil quality for industry, laboratories and regulatory bodies. It defines sensory and physicochemical attributes, a normative gas‑chromatographic profile, and references accepted test methods.
