ISO 9311-3:2005 - Adhesives for thermoplastic piping systems - Part 3: Test method for the determination of resistance to internal pressure - defines a standardized hydrostatic test to assess the ability of adhesive-bonded thermoplastic pipe assemblies to resist internal pressure. The method produces reproducible results for adhesive performance under controlled conditions and is intended for use where bonded joints must maintain integrity under pressure.

- Acceptance criterion: An adhesive passes the test if no leakage occurs along the bonded interface under the specified conditions.
- Reporting: Test reports must include references to ISO 9311-3 and normative documents, adhesive and cleaning agent identification, tube/fitting details and dimensions, specimen prep and cure time, conditioning and test conditions, environment (air/water/liquid), applied pressure and duration, and any incidents affecting results.
- Safety: Users must observe laboratory safety practices and applicable national/EU regulations.
