La présente Norme internationale établit les procédures et décrit les pratiques recommandées pour la mesure manuelle et automatique et la prise en compte de quantités en vrac de pétrole brut [y compris le pétrole brut «brisé» (spiked), mélangé et reconstitué] transporté d'un port à l'autre par le biais de pétroliers. La présente Norme internationale donne une base sérieuse pour l'établissement des quantités de pétrole brut transférées. Les procédures s'appliquent au transport du pétrole brut du chargement au déchargement.
