La présente partie de l'ISO 9913 décrit une méthode coulométrique permettant de déterminer la perméabilité à l'oxygène des matériaux de lentilles de contact rigides et souples non hydrogels ainsi que la transmissibilité de l'oxygène de ces lentilles de contact. Elle spécifie les modes opératoires permettant d'effectuer les mesurages et définit les conditions dans lesquelles ces derniers sont effectués.La présente partie de l'ISO 9913 s'applique à la détermination de la transmissibilité de l'oxygène des lentilles de contact rigides et souples non hydrogels, présentant des puissances réfractives diverses et des géométries de lentilles de contact à symétrie radiale. Elle s'applique également à la détermination de la perméabilité à l'oxygène (Dk) des matériaux de lentilles de contact rigides et souples non hydrogels, sous la forme d'échantillons d'essai normalisés.La présente partie de l'ISO 9913 est particulièrement utile pour la détermination des valeurs de perméabilité supérieures à 75 x 10-11 (cm2/s) [ml O2/(ml . hPa)], qui se situent au-dessus de la plage usuelle de mesurage de la méthode polarographique normalisée (méthode FATT, voir l'ISO 9913-1).La présente partie de l'ISO 9913 n'est pas applicable aux matériaux hydrogels ou aux lentilles de contact en hydrogel.
