ISO/IEC 14543-4-301:2020 is an application‑layer standard in the Home Electronic System (HES) architecture series that defines application protocols for networked home air conditioners and controllers. It specifies message structures, command sequences and expected device/controller behaviours to ensure interoperability among products from different manufacturers. The protocol is implemented on top of the NECD model (Network Enhanced Control Device) defined in ISO/IEC 14543-4-3 and uses IP transport (UDP over IPv4/IPv6; TCP optional).
