Abstract
Overview
ISO/IEC 40230:2011 defines an abstract feature for optimizing the transmission and wire format of SOAP messages (W3C SOAP Message Transmission Optimization Mechanism, often referred to as SOAP MTOM). The standard specifies how portions of a SOAP message can be to improve transmission efficiency while still presenting a standard to the SOAP application. This enables optimized wire formats without changing the logical XML view exposed to web‑service consumers and providers.
