Overview
ISO/TS 29002-5:2009 - Industrial automation systems and integration - Exchange of characteristic data - Part 5: Identification scheme - defines a standardized identification approach for administered items used in industrial data exchange. The technical specification specifies the data elements and a syntax for an unambiguous identifier called an International Registration Data Identifier (IRDI) (as defined in ISO/IEC 11179-5). Administered items include concepts and concept information elements used in concept dictionaries (terminology, abbreviations, definitions, images, symbols, concept types, and source references). ISO/TS 29002-5:2009 was developed to increase interoperability between implementations of ISO 13584 and ISO/TS 22745, while remaining usable independently or via implementation profiles.
