This document specifies the minimum requirements and test methods for rubber latex coated fabric gloves. This document is applicable for general use fabric gloves which are coated with natural rubber latex and fabric gloves which are coated with acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber latex. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is not included in this document.

Classification
- Type 1: natural rubber latex coated fabric
- Type 2: acrylonitrile‑butadiene rubber latex coated fabric
- Finishes: partly coated (Type A) and fully coated (Type B)
Sampling and inspection
- Sampling per ISO 2859‑1 single sampling plans.
- Lot limit: when indeterminate, a lot should not exceed 150 000 pairs.
- AQLs: Appearance 1.5, Force at break 4.0; fingertip wear and thumb-index tear “as agreed”.
Material and appearance
- Materials must be non‑toxic.
- Visual defects (air bubbles, peeling, cracks, latex migration/flow, impurities, flow marks, damage) not acceptable if they compromise function.
Tensile properties
- Test method: ISO 1421 (method 1).
- Specimen: 10 mm × 100 mm strips from fully coated palm or back; median of 10 used.
- Minimum force at break: 30 N before accelerated aging, 20 N after accelerated aging.
- Accelerated aging: 72 ± 2 h at 70 ± 2 °C, followed by ≥16 h conditioning.
Wear and tear tests
- Fingertip wear resistance (Annex A informative): test with sandpaper roller - requirement ≥ 16 rotation cycles before breakthrough.
- Thumb‑index tear resistance (Annex B informative): requirement ≥ 1.5 kg before break.
Packaging, marking, transport, storage
- Packaging must not contaminate gloves.
- Packages must include product name, size/type/finish, quantity, manufacturer, ISO/TS number, production date/batch, storage period.
- Storage conditions: RH 25–75%, temperature ≤ 35 °C, racks ≥ 200 mm from floor, avoid direct UV/ozone and contact with oils/acids/metals. Inspection required if stored > 36 months.
