What is this PAS about? It provides guidance to help organizations protect their mobile workforce and themselves. Who is the PAS for? It can be used by any organization of any size and sector that designates travellers for work-related travel or assignments. This includes: workers, volunteers, contractors, subcontractors and students. It will also be useful to organizations that provide health, safety and security assistance to other organizations. It will be used by:

Why should you use this PAS? Workers who travel face large and small risks: from incidents such as petty crime and falling ill to the threats of terrorist activity, natural disasters such as earthquakes and pandemics such as Ebola. At the same time employers owe these employees some duty of care to ensure their health, safety and welfare. This includes when they’re in transit and in other jurisdictions. PAS 3001 gives recommendations on organizational responsibility in respect of the health, safety and security of individuals travelling for work.
