What is ISO/TR 11827 – Composition testing and identification of fibres about?

ISO/TR 11827 is an international standard that focuses on composition testing and identification of fibres. Textile is a flexible material made by creating an interlocking bundle of  yarns  or  threads , which are produced by  spinning  raw fibres (from either natural or synthetic sources) into long and twisted lengths. ISO/TR 11827 describes procedures for the identification of natural and man-made fibres and may be used, when necessary, to coordinate with methods for the quantitative analysis of fibre blends. Note 1: ISO/TR 11827 calls for the use of substances/procedures that may be injurious to the health/ environment if appropriate conditions are not observed. Note 2: ISO/TR 11827 refers only to technical suitability and does not absolve the user from legal obligations relating to health and safety/environment at any stage.
