PD IEC/TR 61000-3-6 is a part of an international multi-series standard that covers the aspects of Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) for public power systems. PD IEC/TR 61000-3-6 is a technical report that provides guidance on principles, used as the basis for determining the requirements for the connection of distorting installations to MV, HV, and EHV public power systems. PD IEC/TR 61000-3-6 addresses the allocation of the capacity of the system to absorb disturbances. It gives guidance for the coordination of the harmonic voltages between different voltage levels to meet the compatibility levels at the point of utilization. The boundaries between the various voltage levels may be different for different countries. PD IEC/TR 61000-3-6 uses the following terms for system voltages:
