Abstract
Overview
EN 61850-8-1:2011/A1:2020 (IEC 61850-8-1 Amendment A1) is a normative amendment to the IEC 61850 series defining the for power utility automation. It specifies how the abstract services and data models are mapped to concrete protocols - primarily and - to enable multi-vendor interoperability of intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) and substation automation systems. The amendment updates normative references and extends transport, time-synchronization and routable real-time messaging capabilities.
