Abstract
Overview
EN 71-17:2025 - Safety of toys: Certain isothiazolinones (MIT, CIT, BIT) in aqueous toy materials is a CEN European Standard that specifies content limits and a laboratory test method for selected isothiazolinone preservatives in toy materials formulated with water. The standard is intended for toys designed for children under 36 months and for toys liable to be placed in the mouth. It provides a harmonized procedure for compliance with the chemical limits set under Directive 2009/48/EC and subsequent Commission Directives (EU) 2015/2116 and 2015/2117.
