Overview
EN ISO 11334-1:2007 (CEN / ISO 11334-1:2007) specifies safety, performance and test requirements for elbow crutches (assistive products for walking manipulated by one arm). The standard covers elbow crutches fully equipped with a handgrip and tip and defines tests for separation, static load capacity, fatigue and resistance to low temperature embrittlement. It also sets requirements for ergonomics, marking, labelling and manufacturer information. The requirements are based on everyday use during the through‑swing gait and apply to elbow crutches specified for a user mass of not less than 35 kg.
