Abstract
Overview
SIST EN ISO 1181:2005 is an international standard developed by CEN in collaboration with ISO that specifies requirements for fibre ropes made from natural fibres-specifically manila and sisal. It covers three construction types of ropes: 3-strand hawser-laid, 4-strand shroud-laid, and 8-strand braided ropes intended for general service applications. The standard sets out parameters for rope designation, physical properties, lubrication, finish, and marking to ensure quality and consistent performance.
