Overview
SIST EN ISO 12460-2:2025 / ISO 12460-2:2024 specifies a small-scale chamber method to determine formaldehyde release from wood-based panels. The standard defines a chamber test procedure (with different chamber-size options) to measure formaldehyde concentrations in air under defined environmental test conditions - temperature, relative humidity, loading and air exchange rate. Results from this small-scale chamber method can be used for factory production control (FPC) when a correlation is established with reference chamber test methods (ISO, EN or ASTM); the correlation procedure is described in Annex D.
