Overview
EN ISO 13433:2025 - Geosynthetics: Determination of dynamic perforation (cone drop test) specifies a laboratory method to assess the resistance of geosynthetics to dynamic penetration by dropping a steel cone from a fixed height. Adopted by CEN (approved June 2025) and identical to ISO 13433:2025, this second edition updates tolerances and adds guidance on interpretation of results. The method is generally applicable to most geosynthetic products but notes careful consideration for some product types (e.g. GGR, GCE, GST, GBR).

- Conditioning and environment: Standard test atmosphere - 20 °C ± 2 °C and 65 % ± 5 % RH (ISO 554). A specimen is conditioned when mass change between successive weighings (≥2 h apart) ≤ 0.25 %.
- Reporting: Test report includes specimen details, cone measurements, hole diameter (measured in mm), test conditions and any interpretation notes.
