Overview
EN ISO 13565-1:1997 (ISO 13565-1:1996) is a Geometrical Product Specification (GPS) standard that defines a filtering method and general measurement conditions for profile-based surface texture assessment of surfaces with stratified functional properties - i.e., a finely finished plateau interrupted by relatively deep valleys and minimal waviness. The standard’s filtering approach reduces valley-induced distortion of the reference line so that roughness parameters are more representative of the functional plateau.
