ISO 13894-2:2005 describes the general properties of composite elements surfaced, and possibly edged, with high-pressure decorative laminate (HPDL). The composite elements specified consist of HPDL sheet material adhesively bonded to one or both sides of a wood-based substrate, and are intended for normal interior use. Requirements for special applications, e.g. where the product is subjected to extreme conditions of heat or moisture, are not specified.

Overview
EN ISO 13894-2:2015 specifies requirements for high‑pressure decorative laminates (HPDL) bonded to wood‑based substrates for normal interior use. Adopted by CEN from ISO 13894‑2:2005, this standard covers composite elements produced by adhesively bonding HPDL sheet material to one or both faces of substrates such as particleboard, fibreboard, OSB or plywood. It does not set performance levels for extreme heat or moisture exposure; special‑application testing and criteria are agreed between customer and supplier.
