EN ISO 15234:2010 (ISO 15234:1999 adopted by CEN) specifies a laboratory test method for determining the equilibrium (steady‑state) concentration of formaldehyde emitted from formaldehyde‑emitting coatings and melamine foams. The method measures the concentration established at 23 °C and 50 % relative humidity in a small test chamber (typically a 20 L desiccator) and is intended to simulate practical conditions on a laboratory scale. Results show good correlation with measurements from larger (40 m3) test chambers, making this method suitable for preliminary limit setting and comparative testing.
