Abstract
Overview
SIST EN specifies a standardized centrifuge method for the determination of sediment in crude animal and vegetable fats and oils. This method enables accurate quantitative assessment of the amount of sediment - insoluble matter that can be separated centrifugally - in crude oils and fats. The standard is applicable to oils with sediment contents ranging from 0.03 ml to 15 ml per 100 g, obtained from extraction or crushing processes. It plays a vital role in the quality control and processing of edible oils and fats, ensuring product suitability for further refinement and safe consumption.
