EN ISO 17639:2022 (ISO 17639:2022) provides recommendations for destructive tests on welds in metallic materials, focusing on macroscopic and microscopic examination of welds. The standard defines specimen preparation, test procedures and the main objectives for revealing weld geometry, defects and microstructural features. It supersedes the 2013 edition and is published by CEN/ISO for harmonized national implementation.
