EN ISO 19085-16:2021 (CEN adoption) - titled Woodworking machines - Safety - Part 16: Table band saws and band re-saws (ISO 19085-16:2021) - sets out the safety requirements and measures for table band saws and band re-saws intended for cutting solid wood and similar materials. It applies to machines with manual loading/unloading and suitable for continuous production. The standard covers hazards during normal use, reasonably foreseeable misuse, plus transport, assembly, dismantling, disabling and scrapping. Machines with table-tilt or saw-unit-tilt devices are included. Exclusions include machines driven by combustion engines/PTO, log band sawing machines, horizontal band saws, and firewood cross-cutting machines. It does not apply in potentially explosive atmospheres or to machines manufactured before publication.
