EN ISO 19577:2019 - "Footwear - Critical substances potentially present in footwear and footwear components - Determination of Nitrosamines" specifies an analytical method for detecting and quantifying 12 nitrosamines (see Annex A of the standard) in footwear materials. Published by CEN/ISO in 2019, the procedure is applicable to rubber used in footwear components and uses solvent extraction followed by analysis with gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC‑MS).
