ISO 25619-2:2015 specifies an index test method for determining the short-term compressive behaviour of geosynthetics. It can be used to determine the deformation behaviour under short-term compressive stress, e.g. after exposure to stress, liquids, or light. ISO 25619-2. 2015 can be used for quality control purposes. It is not intended to be used for design purposes.

EN ISO 25619-2:2015 (ISO 25619-2:2015) specifies an index test method for determining the short-term compression behaviour of geosynthetics. The standard defines how to measure short-term compressive strength and corresponding compressive strain of geosynthetic products (e.g., geotextiles, structured cores) under rapid compressive loading. It is intended for quality control and testing, not for structural design.

- Principle: Apply compressive force perpendicular to specimen faces and record maximum stress and deformation (force vs displacement).

- Rectangular or square specimens, minimum 100 mm × 100 mm.
- Specimen thickness (initial thickness) measured at a stress of 5 kPa.

- At least five specimens; use a new specimen for each test.
- Conditioning: Standard atmosphere per ISO 554 (20 °C ± 2 °C, 65% ± 5% RH) before testing.
