EN ISO 52022-1:2017 (CEN adoption of ISO 52022-1:2017) is a European/International standard for the energy performance of buildings that defines a simplified calculation method to quantify the solar and daylight behaviour of solar protection devices combined with glazing. The standard provides a clear, repeatable approach to estimate:
- Total solar energy transmittance through glazing plus shading,
- Direct solar energy transmittance (beam component),
- Light transmittance (daylight transmission) of the combined system.
EN ISO 52022-1:2017 forms part of the EPB (energy performance of buildings) standards and was prepared by CEN/TC 89 in collaboration with ISO/TC 163.
