This document specifies the dimensions and tolerances of female electrode caps for resistance spot welding of metallic materials. Taper dimensions and tolerances of the electrode caps follow the values specified in ISO 1089. NOTE Electrode caps with locking tapers are addressed in ISO 20168. Male electrode caps are specified in ISO 5830.

Overview - EN ISO 5821:2025 (Female electrode caps for spot welding)
EN ISO 5821:2025, adopted by CEN from ISO 5821:2025, specifies the dimensions and tolerances of female electrode caps used for resistance spot welding of metallic materials. This third edition updates and replaces the previous edition (2009/2010) and standardizes preferred taper 1:10 configurations, dimensional tables, and marking/designation rules to ensure interchangeability and reliable welding performance.
