This document specifies the types, structure, dimensions, technical requirements, inspection and designation of single rungs and rungs for dog-step ladders, fitted to the vertical panel or masts of ships or other marine structures.
Abstract
Overview
EN ISO 9519:2023 (identical to ISO 9519:2023) covers requirements for single rungs and rungs for dog-step ladders used on ships and other marine structures. The standard specifies types, structure, dimensions, technical requirements, inspection and designation for rungs fitted to vertical panels or masts. EN ISO 9519:2023 supersedes the earlier EN 29519:1993 and extends the scope, dimensions and inspection requirements compared with the previous edition.

- Rungs are classified into Type A/B (for panels or masts > 300 mm diameter) and Type C (for masts ≤ 300 mm).
