ISO 11264:2005 specifies a high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for qualitative and quantitative determination of herbicides of various substance classes in soils. This method covers triazines including their related metabolites, phenyl urea compounds and other herbicides. Compounds are identified and quantified with UV-detection.

Overview
ISO 11264:2005 - Soil quality: Determination of herbicides - Method using HPLC with UV-detection describes a validated laboratory procedure for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of a broad range of herbicides and some metabolites in soil. The method uses reversed-phase HPLC with UV (or diode-array) detection after solvent extraction and liquid–liquid partitioning. It is applicable to substance classes such as triazines, phenyl urea compounds and other common herbicides, with a typical limit of detection for triazines and phenyl ureas of about 0.01 mg/kg dry matter (matrix-dependent).
