Specifies methods of preparing samples of manganese ores for determining the chemical composition and moisture content of a consignment. The methods are applicable to natural or processed manganese ores. Details of the riffle divider to be used are given in the annex.

Overview
ISO 4296-2:1983 - "Manganese ores - Sampling - Part 2: Preparation of samples" specifies standardized methods for preparing manganese ore samples for and determination. Applicable to both natural and processed manganese ores, it complements (increment sampling) and links to (moisture determination). The standard also includes an annex with detailed specifications for the used in sample splitting.
