Gives a method of calculating head loss in the transport of liquids under pressure in hydraulically smooth thermoplastic pipes. The formulae given (for calculating head drop and head loss, for temperature correction) apply to the transport of water under pressure, or to all other liquids of the same dynamic viscosity, at temperatures of up to 45 °C.

ISO/TR 10501:1993 - Thermoplastics pipes for the transport of liquids under pressure: Calculation of head losses - is a technical report that provides a practical method for calculating head loss in hydraulically smooth thermoplastic pipes. It is intended for the transport of water (or liquids with the same dynamic viscosity) at temperatures up to 45 °C. The report supplies unit head-loss relations, temperature correction guidance and gives the basic relation between unit head loss and total head drop for a pipeline.
