Overview

IEC 60204-1:2016 - Safety of machinery - Electrical equipment of machines - Part 1: General requirements - is the sixth edition of the international standard that defines safety, functional and documentation requirements for the electrical, electronic and programmable electronic equipment of machines that are not portable by hand while working. The standard applies from the point of connection of the supply to the machine’s electrical equipment and covers single machines and coordinated groups of machines. This 2016 edition is a technical revision that updates requirements for power drive systems (PDS), electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), protective bonding, overcurrent protection and short-circuit current rating of equipment.
