IEC 60335-2-16:2022

Overview

IEC 60335-2-16:2022 is the sixth edition of the international safety standard for food waste disposers used in households and similar environments. It applies to electrically powered and battery-operated disposers with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V, including DC-supplied appliances. This Part 2 standard supplements and modifies the general safety rules in IEC 60335-1 and is intended to address common electrical, mechanical, thermal and fire hazards associated with food waste disposers in normal and reasonably foreseeable abnormal use.
